SENELAKECA DONS CORA: (Dam). 1991-2019. Warner Farm & CC Farm. Bred by the very well known Daniel Murphy and sold to the Warner farm as a foal. A royally bred foundation mare who was broke to work. She had a fabulous temperament and the lovely traditional build. She only produced two foals, the highly decorated Warner's Jay (Reserve World Champion) and Warner's Cindy (Champion Offspring), both residing at CC Farm.
STERLINGS THUNDERSTIK: Sterling's Thunderstik, was taking the tanbark by storm, winning Grand Champion Stallion at the World Percheron Congress, The National Percheron Show, the Keystone International and the Michigan State Fair and doing it all as a two year old. Sterling's Thunderstik was crowned World Champion Percheron Stallion in 1995, as a two year old, at the Kansas City, MO Percheron Congress. That same year he was Jr & Gr. Champion at the National Percheron Show, Keystone International and Michigan State Fair. Thunderstik was an own son of M.G.'s Prince (the first foal in his second crop) and out of the big, powerful mare, Janet of Glynlea. Thunderstik was one of the most winning son's of Prince and as such he certainly deserves significant credit in the establishment of the late McGee son as a dominant sire. Thunderstik was bred by Avery Sterling, of Gladwin, MI and sold to the Hardy Family of Saranac, MI as a yearling, which proved to be hugely consequential to the Hardy Farms breeding program. He would be crossed on numerous Spirit Poseidon daughters and produce a string of offspring who were formidable show and breeding horses. Perhaps the most successful was with Hardy Farms Tara producing the likes of HF Thunder's Classic, HF Thunder's Glory and most notably the stallion, HF Thunder's Supreme, who would follow in his sire's footsteps and become World Champion in Brandon, Manitoba in 2004. The Hardy's would also later exhibit a 6 horse hitch comprised of Thunderstik daughters to Reserve National Champion Mare Six status, showing the line's versatility. Thunderstik met an untimely death at the young age of 11 years old, but not before he left a significant mark on the breed and its history. Article courtesy of Draft Horse Digest Podcast.

MG'S PRINCE: PREMIER PERCHERON SIRE, RESERVE WORLD CHAMPION, RESERVE ALL-AMERICAN CHAMPION. World renowned SIRE of 3 WORLD CHAMPIONS and multiple NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. By the famous MCGEE and out of the mare JOANNA LAET. There are a few instances in the past 100+ years when the Percheron breed has experienced significant impacts from a prolific stallion or mare. MG'S PRINCE is one of those stallions that left his mark in the stud books. MG'S PRINCE unarguably played a significant role in establishing the Percheron's dominance within the draft breeds in the areas of length of neck and proud head carriage. SIRE of STERLINGS THUNDERSTIK. While MG'S PRINCE was showing, Prince's son, Sterling's Thunderstik, was taking the tanbark by storm, winning Grand Champion Stallion at the World Percheron Congress, The National Percheron Show, the Keystone International and the Michigan State Fair and doing it all as a two year old. Prince would ultimately go on to SIRE two other World Champion stallions, PLEASANT VIEW KING (Calgary, 1998) and BLUE RIBBON FARMS PRINCE (Lexington, 2006). As impressive an individual as he, himself, was, MG PRINCE'S legacy is most certainly cemented by his production record in the breeding barn. He maintained a comfortable place as the Premier Percheron Sire for many years, as his offspring dominated in the show ring, and, during the second half of the 90's and into the first decade of the 21st century, Prince's offspring also commanded high prices at public auctions across the country. Prince had this profound impact on the Percheron breed despite his relatively limited use as a (predominantly) natural-cover stallion a further testament to his genetic strength and consistent production record.
