Cristy was born and raised here at CC Farm in partnership with the Warner Farm. The Warner Farm was well known for producing the old-style, heavy working Percherons that could work the farm all week and then head to a horse show on the weekend and be competitive. Their horses became known for their incredible temperaments, work ethic, eye appeal, and versatility.
Over 20 years ago, generations of those honest working partners and world-caliber champions became part of CC Farm. Since then, we've ridden, shown, owned, and sold Warner horses that have earned championships at every level, with several also going on to serve in mounted police units. Today, the Warner bloodlines remain the backbone of our Percheron breeding program, and many of the Percherons and Percheron crosses we ride, show, and breed trace directly back to those horses.
Cristy is a beautiful example of what those genetics consistently produce. She is the result of crossing a heavy, traditional draft-type mare with a tall, massive, exceptionally well-bred stallion. Her pedigree is stacked with many of the great, proven names that helped build the Percheron breed, both on the top and bottom side.
She has been shown, ridden, and enjoyed here on the home farm and has proven herself to be everything we could ask for in a partner. Quiet-minded, willing, athletic, and incredibly versatile, Cristy is always ready for the next job. As a three-year-old, she helped my beginner daughter accomplish goals in the show ring that we'll never forget (see photos). Since then, she has continued to carry my daughter through every new adventure- her first draft horse shows under saddle, her first county fairs, her first state fair, and now her first major breed shows. To us, that's the true mark of a great mare. She has the talent and athletic ability to compete, but she also has the mind, patience, and kindness to build the confidence of a young rider along the way.
Today, Cristy is much more than a riding horse or a broodmare, she is an important piece of our program's history and future. She is the last producing Warner mare in our breeding program, making every foal she raises that much more meaningful to us. Through her, we're preserving a program and a family of horses that have influenced CC Farm for more than two decades while bringing the next generation along. Cristy truly represents everything we strive to produce: size, substance, athleticism, exceptional disposition, and the kind of versatility that has defined our breeding program for over 20 years.
